The Shrewsbury Chorale presents “A More Perfect Union”, music by American composers, at 7pm, Friday, May 29, at the United Methodist Church of Red Bank, 247 Broad Street, Red Bank. The program will consist mostly of old American songs in sparkling new arrangements. Fiona Smith Sutherland will direct. The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Monmouth County (UUCMC) is delighted to announce a special fundraising event: a piano and violin recital on Saturday, May 30, 2026. The recital will take place at 7:00 PM in the UUCMC sanctuary, located at 1475 West Front Street, Lincroft, NJ.
This enchanting evening will feature two talented local musicians – Evan Schwartzman on piano and Joel DeWitt on violin, performing a particularly wide-ranging program, that takes us from late nineteenth century Bohemia to present day Atlantic Highlands, and concludes with one of Beethoven’s most passionate violin sonatas.

We always have a professional house band, and we invite top pro jazz artists as well as our current students, alumni, faculty, and friends to sit in. We come together for a night of celebration, music, and pure jazz joy. It’s a chance to reconnect, reminisce, and make new memories while sharing the stage and celebrating the spirit of jazz. WBGO presents All That Jazz concert series, a unique series showcasing some of the genre’s most talented and respected performers, featuring the Dizzy Gillespie All Stars with John Lee and special guest Paquito D’Rivera! This series is a partnership between WBGO, UCPAC, and Smooth Jazz NJ.
The Dizzy Gillespie All Stars perform the music of the 40s and 50s as an ensemble of 6-8, including tunes such as “A Night In Tunisia,” “Anthropology,” “BeBop,” “Birks Works,” “Blue ‘N’ Boogie,” “Con Alma,” “Dizzy Atmosphere,” “Groovin’ High,” “Hot House,” “Oop-Pop-Sh’-Bam,” “Ow,” “Salt Peanuts,” and many more.
The line-up, which varies, includes some of the stellar musicians who used to work with Gillespie, plus some of the best and brightest young up-and-comers of the next generation of jazz.
