Holmdel Theatre Company is proud to present Ms. Holmes & Ms. Watson – Apt. 2B, a fast-paced and fiercely funny reimagining of the world’s most iconic detective duo. The production will run weekends from Saturday, November 8 to Sunday, November 23 and is directed by Tina Barone and produced by Laurie Devino.
Barone is excited to bring this modern spin on Arthur Conan Doyle’s beloved stories to Monmouth County audiences. “This play is the perfect mix of mystery, wit and absolute comedic chaos. Audiences are in for a fast-paced ride full of surprises, snark, and heartfelt hilarity.”
Written by award-winning playwright Kate Hamill (Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, The Odyssey), Ms. Holmes & Ms. Watson – Apt. 2B flips the script on the classic Sherlock Holmes tales. In this contemporary comedic spin, Ms. Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Joan Watson must outwit eccentric clients, unhinged criminals, and each other — all while trying (and often failing) to keep their shaky partnership from completely unraveling.
From absurd disguises to razor-sharp banter, Ms. Holmes & Ms. Watson – Apt. 2B offers a wildly entertaining take on friendship, identity, and what it means to work together when everything (and everyone) seems to be falling apart.
The Holmdel Theatre Company production features Amy Chrzanowski (Ms. Joan Watson), Jesse Luciani (Inspector Lestrade & others), Quinn Hope Michaels (Irene Adler), Jessica Randell (Ms. Sherlock Holmes), and Jennifer Lauren Wilson (Mrs. Hudson & others). About Holmdel Theatre Company
Holmdel Theatre Company at the Duncan Smith Theater (HTC) is a non-profit, semi-professional theatre company dedicated to presenting fresh interpretations of classic plays as well as rarely presented modern dramas and comedies.
HTC is dedicated to providing opportunities for students and non-professionals to work with professional theatre artists in a collaborative, artistic and educational exchange.
Making this sophisticated informality possible is The Duncan Smith Theater. Congenial and warm, this historic, 125-year-old barn has been transformed into a modern, fully air-conditioned facility with 99 comfortably cushioned seats.
The HTC performance space is a black box theatre that allows for flexibility in stage and seating arrangement to suit the specific requirements of a production. The Duncan Smith Theater gives each artist the opportunity to explore more experimental modes of performance. This intimate space allows the audience to connect with the performing artists.
