According to NJ.com, Officers Dewitt Bacon and John Walsh, along with local resident Joseph Dunbar, caught the child after they leapt from a second-story window of the Prospect Avenue house, authorities said. “Asbury Park police officers train for fast-moving, dangerous situations, and this rescue proves the value of that training,” said Police Director John B. Hayes. He praised all three for their bravery — and the child for their courage under pressure.
