The Christmas Spider – New Jersey Opera Theater

The Christmas Spider – New Jersey Opera Theater
"Developed by The American Opera Project and performed by New Jersey Opera Theater, “The Christmas Spider” spins a shimmering tale about love and togetherness during the holiday season. On a bitterly cold Christmas Eve, a poor woodcutter and his two children have no gifts, barely enough to eat, and are in danger of losing their home to an impatient landlady. The surprise discovery of a large, but gentle arachnid leads to a seemingly miraculous turn of good fortune for the family. Inspired by a Ukrainian legend, “The Christmas Spider” is a new addition to the holiday canon, telling a tale for all ages. Please note: “The Christmas Spider” will be performed in English.
