The twenty-three-year-old man from Belleville was found floating face down in the water of the St. Clair Avenue beach in Spring Lake shortly after 2pm. First-responders treated the man at the scene and transported him to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, where he was pronounced dead. The police statement said lifeguards are not on duty for several more weeks, and asked the public not to swim at unguarded beaches.
