MUSIC INDUSTRY PAYS TRIBUTE TO NEIL YOUNG

LOS ANGELES (AP) – Jackson Browne says Neil Young “has influenced his generation and every generation since.” Young was honored by the Recording Academy Friday night as its MusiCares Person of the Year for his charitable works. Sheryl Crow says Young’s combination of rock and folk set her on her current course as a songwriter. Young himself was humble about the honor. He was pleased that it was a fundraiser to help musicians who have fallen on hard times and are, as he put it, “living in the real world.”
