LES PAUL REMEMBERED

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) – Peter Frampton says as a budding guitar player, he wanted to get the same echo effect as Les Paul but he didn’t have the equipment. He used his bathroom to create echo. Years later, he told Paul about it. Paul told him bathrooms are the best echo chambers and he’d put his wife and music partner, Mary Ford, in the bathroom as much as he could. Paul died yesterday at the age of 94. Joe Satriani calls Paul “the original Guitar Hero” and says Paul was fun, funny and a joy to play with.
