CDC Confirms 5 Swine Flu Cases In New Jersey

New Jersey health officials say the five people in the state with confirmed cases of swine flu include three members of a family from Burlington County, a 43-year-old Monmouth County woman and a 22-year-old woman from Bergen County.

The cases were confirmed Thursday by the federal Centers for Disease Control. Health officials say all five have mild forms of the flu and none had been hospitalized.

The Burlington County family members — a 47-year-old man, a 10-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy — recently traveled together to Mexico.

The other two confirmed cases involve unrelated adults, one of whom recently traveled to Mexico, the other to California.

New Jersey also has two probable swine flu cases identified Wednesday.
