STEVEN PAGE LEAVES BARENAKED LADIES
TORONTO (AP) – Barenaked Ladies are out a guitar player and singer. Steven Page has left the band “by mutual agreement,” according to a statement on the band’s web site. They don’t go into detail about what that means, but they do say Page will pursue solo projects and theatrical opportunities. The band will continue without Page and will go in the studio in April. Page says the guys in the band are his brothers and he wishes them the best. Ed Robertson says it’s the start of a new chapter for all of them. Page was arrested with his girlfriend and her roommate in July for drug possession, but the band statement does not refer to that. Page and the two women secured a deal in October that will drop the charges if they stay out of trouble for six months.
