Poll Finds NJ Likes Its Own Restaurants
New Jerseyans surveyed have a taste for Garden State cuisine, and when they mangia they prefer Italian.
A Monmouth University/New Jersey Monthly poll released today finds 40% of New Jerseyans surveyed have a sit-down restaurant meal at least once a week. Some 58% say New Jersey’s restaurants are just as good as those in New York and Philadelphia.
Only 22% say New Jersey’s restaurants can’t compare to those found in the big neighboring cities.
Italian was, by far, the favorite among New Jersey diners, with 41% favoring that cuisine.
New Jerseyans may also be watching what they eat. Just 20% say they either always or often order dessert.
