DESCRIPTION:The ShowRoom Cinema\, Asbury Park's premier art house movie theater\, today  announced a screening of the documentary\, "Urbanized\," with a special guest appearance by producer/director\, Gary Hustwit\, on Saturday\, September 29 at 5:30 p.m.  The final installment of the director's design-film trilogy\, "Urbanized" joins the critically acclaimed "Helvetica" (2007) and "Objectified" (2009) in providing cinematic insights into the design experience.  Following the 5:30pm screening\, The ShowRoom is pleased to welcome back its regular interviewer par excellence\, ABC researcher Kim Powers\, who will lead the post-film interview and Q&A session with Hustwit.  Following the discussion\, a reception will be held across the street at Asbury's own Parlor Gallery..    With more than half of the world's population now living in urban areas\, "Urbanized" explores a diverse range of urban design projects around the world and frames a global discussion on the future of cities.  The feature-length documentary not only looks at the issues and strategies behind urban design\, but also features some of the world's foremost architects\, planners\, policymakers\, builders\, and thinkers.   Hustwit adeptly addresses the challenges of balancing housing\, mobility\, public space\, civic engagement\, economic development\, and environmental policy\, all of which are fast becoming universal concerns."Mr. Hustwit provided our audience with an engaging and personal discussion three years ago when he joined us for a special screening of his film 'Objectified\,'" commented The ShowRoom Cinema's Michael Sodano.
