A line-up of acoustic singer/songwriters will be performing this Friday from 8:00 pm at Brighton Bar in Long Branch NJ. So far, four artists are committed to the line-up: Nick Clemons, Samantha Louise, Raising Dinosaurs, and The Random Hubiak, with a few more to be added by Friday. Donations are recommended at the door, with Center for Disaster Philanthropy (disasterphilanthropy.org) coordinating collection and distribution of funds. Nick Clemons is the son of E. Street Band saxophonist Clarence Clemons. He mixes rock, funk, jazz, R&B, and pop styles into his set. Samantha Louise is a singer/songwriter of complex and quirky pop that veers left of center; you'll hear artists from Sara Bareilles to Nina Simone in her music. Foo Fighters are a rock band with influences from Led Zeppelin to Foo Fighters and Queens of the Stone Age, but they'll be performing a stripped down acoustic set this week. And The Random Hubiak is a writer of hyperliterate piano pop-rock reminiscent of Harry Nilsson and Ben Folds.
