New Horizons at Pluto: Discoveries at the Dwarf Planet

After a 9 year voyage, the New Horizons spacecraft flew by Pluto and returned a wealth of data on this mysterious object. Spectacular photographs and instruments revealed a totally alien landscape that is still evolving, with an atmosphere and frozen oceans of nitrogen. Speaker Frank O'Brien has been volunteering at InfoAge since 2003, and is a Solar System Ambassador for NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. He is the author of a very successful book on the Apollo Guidance Computer, and gives monthly lectures on all aspects of spaceflight. The presentation will be held at the InfoAge Space Exploration Center (ISEC) located at 2300 Marconi Road, Wall on Sunday, August 27th at 2:00 PM. The lecture is open to the public.
