On September 9, 2017 (rain date September 10, 2017), The Mya Lin Terry Foundation and 242Forever are joining together in their fight against cancer! This partnership will create a full day of family fun. The Mya Lin Terry Foundation will be hosting its 6th Annual Mya's Run for Gold. The run will be a 1-mile Super Hero Themed Run and will be held at Joe Palaia Park. Following the run, 242Forever will kick off its 3rd Annual Family Fun Day. Both of these events will be held at Joe Palaia Park. 242Forever's Family Fun Day will feature a number of terrific bands, food, beverages, children's activities, raffles, gift auction and numerous vendors. The Mya Lin Terry Foundation is a charitable non-profit, 100% volunteer organization, created to honor the memory and continue the legacy of an amazing little girl, Ms. Mya Lin Terry. It's mission is to: Enrich the lives of pediatric cancer patients' experiences with hope, love and joy; Create awareness, generate re-sources, identify causes, support new treatment options leading to cures, and eliminate national and critical drug shortages affecting pediatric cancer patients; and Foster the Spirit of Giving. 242Forever is a non- profit organization founded to honor the memory of Det. Sgt. John P. Green, who lost his courageous battle with Colon Cancer in May of 2015. It's goal is to provide support to local families, First Responders and Emergency Personnel who are affected by cancer. Our mission is to identify those in need in the community and provide aid where needed. A scholarship in John's memory will provide financial assistance for Ocean Township High School students, who have served our community by volunteering with local Fire or Police Departments.
