The Red Bank Roller Vixens are hosting an evening of hard-hitting roller derby action in Aberdeen on Saturday, Aug. 23! The event will also be a fundraiser for 180 Turning Lives Around's Amanda's Easel creative arts therapy program, which helps children who are victims of abuse. Art will be available for purchase from tons of local artists, with proceeds benefiting Amanda's Easel. The Vixens will be competing against the Hartford Area Roller Derby's Beat City Bedrockers. It will be the first time the two teams have played each other since November, when the Bedrockers beat the Vixens in a hard-fought game, and the Vixens are hungry for a win this time around. Advance tickets are on sale now for $12 at www.brownpapertickets.com/event/643971. Tickets will also be available at the door. Children under 12 are free, and military and first responders with ID get in for $10 at the door. The game will be at Tab Ramos Sports Center, 17 Blair Road in Aberdeen. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.; the action starts at 8 p.m. Adults 21 and over to drink. For more information visit http://www.redbankrollervixens.com.
