The Monmouth Civic Chorus invites singers to a Summer Sing of Elijah by Felix Mendelssohn. Elijah is a masterpiece, last performed by the Monmouth Civic Chorus in 2000. The music is full of warmth and grandeur as it tells the story of the Biblical prophet. Choral music lovers will recognize classic choruses like "He watching over Israel" and "Lift thine eyes." The Sing includes Chorus member soloists and piano accompaniment, under the baton of MCC Artistic Director, Dr. Ryan Brandau. The Sing is an opportunity to get to know the award-winning Monmouth Civic Chorus and Dr. Brandau, who holds the Doctor of Musical Arts and Master of Music degrees from the Yale School of Music, an MPhil in historical musicology from the University of Cambridge (United Kingdom), and a BA in Music from Princeton University. Dr. Brandau is Artistic Director of Princeton Pro Musica and works with the Symphonic Choir of Westminster Choir College.
