Join us for our inaugural speakers series with an interactive discussion -"Germany, Europe and the USA: Where do we go from here?" – with Middletown resident and former US Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany, Philip Murphy on March 4, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at the Two River Theater Company, 21 Bridge Avenue, Red Bank NJ. Seating is limited to 100 registered guests and a suggested donation of $10.00 per adult benefits the German School of Monmouth County's multi-media library fund. The discussion, which will be followed by a question and answer session and light refreshments, will include topics that range from economic matters on both sides of the Atlantic to security challenges, as well as cultural, language and exchange observations and the new potential for a German/American relationship. "While the USA and Germany have had business and cultural relationships for decades, the 21st century presents an opportunity to further strengthen and grow our collaboration. Whether in business and education or research and development, technology or healthcare, working together will only help each of our respective countries meet and solve the problems and challenges facing our local community as well as the world," says Former US Ambassador Philip Murphy. The German School of Monmouth County offers both language classes and cultural events to bring together the Germanic nations, while preparing students for the 21st century global community and workforce. "In addition to teaching German we host year-round events and we're honored that we can kick off a speaker's series with Ambassador Murphy, who has been a strong supporter of building a transatlantic bridge between Germany and the United States," says German School of Monmouth County Principal Michaela Greco.
