The 50mm focal length has been the keystone of 35mm photography since the 1930s. Henri Cartier-Bresson used just the "50" for everything from landscapes to portraiture – and he did pretty well. Fact is – even the least expensive of 50mm lens proves optically superior to any of the current crop of consumer zooms. From a creative perspective, this is the lens you should be pulling out of your camera bag frequently – and this exciting new photography course will show you why. You will learn the characteristics and explore the versatility of the 50mm lens. Learn about the advantages of low light photography from Michael, an avid 50mm lens user. This is not a beginner How To workshop. Photographers registering for this workshop MUST know the functionality and navigation of their DSLR and of course have a 50mm lens. This two-night workshop is assignment driven. The first session Michael will discuss the advantages of the 50mm lens and work with you on capturing images with it. You will then have a week to work on your assignment of capturing images with only the 50mm lens. The final session will review and discuss your results.
