Celebrate International Darwin Day! International Darwin Day is a global celebration of science held on or around Feb. 12, the birthday anniversary of evolutionary biologist Charles Darwin. The Library's program will feature Paul Mitchell of the University of Pennsylvania, who will speak on "Charles Darwin and Human Evolution." Mitchell's program will be based on his tenet that human history is only a tiny sliver of the earth's history. Mitchell earned a BA in anthropology and philosophy and his MA in biological anthropology at the University of Pennsylvania. In Spring 2014, he will be traveling to Tanzania for one year as a Fulbright Scholar to undertake research in biological anthropology and demography.
