This year, Liz and I are very proud to have been invited! We hope that you enjoy the show! Opening Reception: Saturday, January 4th, 2014 6 – 9PM The show will run from January 4th thru January 28th. Gallery hours are Tuesday thru Saturday, 12PM–4PM, or by appointment Curator's Statement We are very excited to have been asked to curate this show for the Art Alliance. It is an opportunity for us to showcase "anything we want" from our pool of very talented local artists. The idea that we had is manifesting itself in this exhibit: "Photography as an Element". For some time now, artists have been using photography in a variety of ways to create works of art. This show is a sampling of some of the very talented people in our area who have been doing just that. Some of them work found photography into paintings and 3D constructions, some use photos to create collage, others depend on the technological advances of the day, like Photoshop, to create fanciful scenes that had previously only existed in their minds. Some create these imaginary scenes in real life, with real objects and then crop their creations into photographs. Whatever their process, we have always been fascinated with those who use photography as an element in their work. We have gathered some of these artists together and would like to show you what we have found. Please join us....
