The Keyport Ministerium Food Pantry (KMFP) and the Board of Trustees announce the groundbreaking ceremony on July 20th at 10:00 am for the new KMFP Community Center to be built at The Community Church, at theCorner of Osborn & Elizabeth Streets in the historic borough of Keyport, NJ. The groundbreaking ceremony will take place on July 20th at 10:00 am, and speakers will include: Rev. Dawn Seaman, Pastor of Community Church, for the official turnover of the land, President of the Board of Trustees of the KMFP, Architect and Designer Kevin Kernahan and Executive Director Isaiah G. Cooper with whom the project was born. Both Senator Menendez and Congressman Pallone will be on hand along with local town and county officials to lend their support for the project. This project represents a unique partnership and a culmination of ten years of planning to create a new, larger facility which will serve the clients. The Keyport Food Pantry distributes food to over 200 families per month from more than 20 towns in the Monmouth County Bayshore area. The current location which has been used for many years has become inadequate to serve the current clients. The new 2403 square foot Community Center will be located on the grounds of the Community Church of Keyport. In the spirit of the KMFP tradition, donation boxes will be on hand to accept non perishables and canned goods during the event. Refreshments will be served following the opening.
