Flying Dogs of Jupiter Concert

Middletown Township Public Library

55 New Monmouth Road
Middletown, NJ 07748

The Middletown Township Public Library will host New Jersey folk rock band The Flying Dogs of Jupiter on Wednesday, July 24, 2013, beginning at 7 p.m. The Flying Dogs of Jupiter are musicians that continue to define and redefine their own brand of music, distilling the blues, rock, rockabilly, and just about any other brand of spirit you can imagine. Deeply rooted in musical tradition, the FDOJ have "spent a lifetime absorbing the essence of all that is and synthesizing a unique vision of what it could be". With early forays into public performance beginning in 1966 as "The Grapes of Wrath" (among many others), the Flying Dogs of Jupiter finally appeared on Earth in 1974. The Dogs founded Jovian Records in 1975, one of the first indie record labels. The "So Blue We Just Have Ta Boogie" EP was released in March 2013, which followed "In Cecilia's Garden" (2011). Earlier recordings "Return From Jupiter" (2010) and "American Dream" (1975) are also a part of the band's current shows, chronicling their musical history. Today, the FDOJ performs throughout New Jersey and brings the listener a view of the musical world from top to the bottom, from left to right, inside and out, backwards and forwards. An experience not to be missed! For more information, visit www.theflyingdogsofjupiter.com The concert will take place on the library's Outdoor Patio at 55 New Monmouth Road, Middletown, NJ 07748. Funding for library programs comes from the generous support of the Middletown Township Public Library Foundation, Inc.
