Author Book Talk and Signing From tomato pies and pork roll, to custard cones and salt water taffy, take a mouthwatering historical tour of the Jersey Shore's traditional dishes and restaurants. Karen Schnitzspahn will discuss her new book Jersey Shore Food History: Victorian Feasts to Boardwalk Treats. The treats we enjoy today are part of a long tradition dating from the Victorian era, when big oceanfront hotels served elaborate meals to hungry visitors. From Cape May to Sandy Hook, our shore offers a movable feast of diverse restaurants and iconic boardwalk treats.
