SoleXChange (TSXC), a New York-based company sponsoring conventions for sneaker aficionados, is hosting its first event in New Jersey on Sunday, April 7, from noon to 6:00 p.m. at the Collins Arena at Brookdale Community College. The event provides a forum for "sneakerheads" to buy, sell or trade limited-edition sneakers and attend educational classes on the art of negotiating and marketing high demand footwear. A quality control station will be on-site to authenticate all sneakers upon request. Two nonprofit organizations, Soles4Souls and Stomp the Monster, are event sponsors. The convention will include raffles with prizes including tickets to a New York Knicks game; two center ice tickets to a NY Rangers game; four tickets to a NY Red Bulls game and a limited addition sneaker raffle. Other show features include a TSXC trophy for the "Best in Shoe" kicks worn the day of the show, sneaker battles and a surprise celebrity appearance. Discounted general admission tickets are $15 each for advance purchase or $20 at the door. VIP tickets, offering exclusive "front of the line" entrance to the venue, are $20 each in advance and $25 at the door.
