Black & White Photography and the Fine Art Print with Visions Photographic Workshops
This Black and White Intensive workshop is designed for those with a working knowledge of their camera as well as digital workflow in Adobe Lightroom. You must be comfortable importing your images and organizing files.
The first evening session will discuss "thinking in black and white". What makes a black and white image stand apart from color images? A discussion on composition and breaking some of those "rules" to create a unique visual voice. Michael will share his knowledge of traditional fine art black and white technics with today's technologies. You will learn how to combine traditional zone system methodology with the new digital process to forge a complete digital grayscale workflow. You will be given an assignment to capture images for your next evening session.
In the second evening session you will learn how to convert your raw files into black and white, using tonal curves, filters, toning, sharpening and vignetting. You will learn how to reduce digital noise, edge burning and other tools and techniques needed to create a fine art black and white print.
The Saturday session will be spent at Visions Photographic Workshops home printing studio working your images, soft proofing and printing up to a 13 x19 print to take home with you.
