Twice a year for the past six years, guitarist Mike Barris has brought a swinging combo to the Woman's Club of Red Bank to play a tribute to such pre-World War II jazz greats as Louis Armstrong, Django Reinhardt and Bessie Smith. Now Barris is back, once again working with an incendiary band that includes vocalist Jennifer Jordan, lead guitarist Doug Clarke, and trumpeter Tom Bender. The enthralling tribute at the historic Sen. Anthony Reckless Estate (across from the post office) continues the Jersey Shore Jazz & Blues Foundation's monthly "Reckless Steamy Nights" concert series, which raises funds for music scholarships sponsored by the Woman's Club and the JSJBF. BYOB, with snacks included.
