From the Old school to the New School: The History of Rap and Hip-Hop, Yesterday, Today and into the Future
Darryl "DMC" McDaniels helped transform the musical landscape as one-third of the trailblazing, multi-platinum rap group Run-DMC. He is recognized as a pioneer in stoking the popularity of rap and hip-hop into the influential musical genre that it is today. m DMC was awarded an Emmy award for the VH1 Rock Docs documentary, DMC:My Adoption Journey. Darryl will speak about how he dealt with discovering that he was adopted and how he overcame his battle with depression.
To honor the memory of Cristina LoBrutto, who planned to attend Brookdale this term,a portion of the ticket sales will benefit a one time scholarship to an eligible graduate of Old Bridge High School who plans to attend Brookdale in the fall of 2013.
