Acoustic Cafe

Our Lady of Mercy Academy
25 Fremont Ave
Parkridge, NJ

Award winning singer/songwriter Arlon Bennett will celebrate the forthcoming release of his new CD, World of Possibility, with a special pre-release concert at the Acoustic Café, performing with full band! Joining Arlon will be John Sonntag on guitar, Gordon Roehrer on bass, Mara Levine on harmony vocals and Marianne Osiel on oboe. Advance copies of the CD will be available. Special guests The YaYas will open the show. Arlon Bennett is a storyteller who delivers timeless vignettes and melodies in his own style that recalls Harry Chapin and vintage James Taylor. Arlon was twice selected by Noel 'Paul' Stookey to perform in his Music2Life showcase at the Kerrville Folk festival, featuring America's best songs of social consciousness. His song, "Be the Change" from Summer's Voice, has garnered top national airplay on folk radio and the New York Mets chose that CD's title track to be featured in a tribute video to Hall of Fame sportscaster Bob Murphy before a packed house at Shea Stadium. "Arlon's songs ring true, whether he's writing about the personal or the political. The result is inspiring." - John Platt WFUV 90.7 FM New York - "He is a singer/songwriter who brings you stories from unique perspectives, and draws you right in." - Singer magazine - Artist website: Doors at 7:30 PM. Refreshments, wheelchair accessible, free parking. Proceeds benefit the OLM Haiti scholarship fund.
