Ghosts, goblins and candy are the mainstays of Halloween for most people, but at Middletown High School North (MHSN), Halloween means only one thing: Haunted Woods! Each year for the past six years, the senior council has transformed Tindall Park-- directly across the street from the school-- into a "spook-tacular," Halloween-themed extravaganza to which children, teens, and adults of all ages come to enjoy. The theme of this year's event, "Terror on Tindall," will encompass a wide variety of scary scenes throughout the woods connected by a storyline which will add to the overall fear factor of the event. As frightening as the trail may be, MHSN has not forgotten the younger members of the community; the senior parent council has designed a "Happy Trail" for children that will include face and pumpkin painting, age-appropriate Halloween stories, sugar skulls, and more. The MHSN community promises a night of fright that will provide seasonal fun for all. Haunted Woods' scary trail opens just after dusk (approximately 6:30-7 p.m.; Happy Trail opens before dark) on October 20th, and will continue, as , "until the last survivor comes out of the woods." Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children. Proceeds from this signature event will defray the cost of senior class year-end events, including prom and graduation.
