Boardwalk Races Against Hunger

Join the race against hunger on Saturday, September 22 on the Asbury Park boardwalk where the Jersey Shore Running Club and NJ Bankers Association will hold its 5th Annual Boardwalk Races Against Hunger to benefit The FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties. A favorite on the Jersey Shore race calendar, the 10K run starts at 8:30 am on the Asbury Park boardwalk and ends with a post-race party, awards ceremony and buffet at The Stone Pony where Joe Hughes and Golden Seal will be playing live on stage. Awards will be presented to top fundraising teams and individuals. Race participants are encouraged to 'come as you are' and pajamas are allowed and encouraged. The FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties, a member of Feeding America, secures and distributes more than 7 million pounds of food annually to a network of approximately 260 hunger relief organizations in Monmouth and Ocean Counties. The FoodBank is not a food pantry and those needing emergency food or shelter are encouraged to contact the emergency food pantries, soup kitchens and shelters in their communities.
