What makes a black and white image stand apart from color images? A brief discussion on composition and breaking some of those "rules" to create a unique image. You will be given an assignment to capture images for the Saturday workshop where Michael will share his knowledge of traditional fine art black and white with today's technologies and will teach you how to combine traditional zone system methodology with the new digital process to forge a complete digital grayscale workflow. Saturday morning you will learn how to convert your raw files into black and white, using tonal curves, filters, toning, sharpening and vignetting. You will learn how to reduce digital noise, edge burning and other tools and techniques needed to produce a fine art black and white print.
