Asbury Park, NJ– Everyone thinks about hunger during the holidays, but few people realize that the most difficult time for struggling families is during the summer months when children who normally receive subsidized lunches are home from schools. That's why Move For Hunger is teaming up with Passion Group to collect food donations at the Asbury Park Jazz Festival this Saturday and Sunday, June 30th and July 1st. Move For Hunger will be posted up at the Asbury Park Jazz festival all weekend long, collecting food from participants and spreading awareness to the hunger problem in New Jersey and beyond. Be sure to donate for a chance to win free tickets to Hurricane Harbor or a Flip Cam and don't forget to stop by the Move For Hunger red carpet to share your good deeds with friends. "Hunger is not on most people's minds while they are relaxing on the beach," says Adam Lowy, executive director of Move For Hunger. "But the truth is that the summer holidays can be an extremely trying time for struggling families. Kids who normally receive free or subsidized lunches are home from school, which puts extra pressure on the supplies of local area food banks."
