Youth Rock & Roll Benefit
Asbury Park, NJ…A group of musicians are uniting and giving back their gifts to benefit The Mental Health Association of Monmouth County (MHA) on Sunday June 24th. Doors Open at 4:00 PM at Asbury Lanes located at 209 4th Avenue, Asbury Park, NJ (Ocean Ave and 4th). Their goal is to raise awareness about the resources that are available, to encourage communication, and that it is ok to ask for help when feeling like you do not fit in or left out. Suicide is the third leading cause of death of young people ages 15-24, and is most commonly caused by depression. Depression is 100% treatable. The MHA continues to advocate locally and on a state wide level for additional resources for youth suicide prevention.
Recently inducted into the 2012 New Jersey Hall of Fame for his services and contributions to music, the newly awarded Grammy winner, Vini MADDOG Lopez, of the original E-Street Band, will jam with the kids and be an MC that evening. The bands that will be featured are Ardvark Smile; Athletics; The Bad News; Bonafide; Dirty Bird; GBand; Hello, FreakShow; ISpaceWalkSometimes; The Vagrants Fragrance; and more.
