Langosta Lounge, an oceanfront restaurant and bar seated on the Asbury Park Boardwalk, today announces its plans to kick off its Valentine's Day celebrations with Couples Mala, the fourth event in its Mala for Life series. Kicking off at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 11, Couples Mala will invite guests to pick their stones of choice, string a mala necklace and enjoy cocktails and complimentary fare while overlooking panoramic views of the Atlantic. A portion of proceeds from the event will benefit 180 Turning Lives Around, a 501c3 nonprofit organization committed to providing services and support to families and individuals affected by domestic and sexual violence. Langosta Lounge's Malas for Life series aims to raise awareness for charitable and philanthropic causes that are close to the heart of New Jersey residents. Commonly used as prayer beads in the Hindu and Buddhist religion, malas are made to keep count while reciting prayers, chants or mantras. Couples Malas will be led by host Krista Lynn Eggering of The Art Spa and raise awareness for 180 Turning Lives Around's mission to end domestic and sexual violence through public education and public policy reform. Throughout the event, Eggering will guide attendees through the mala-making process. "The Malas for Life series encourages the Jersey Shore community to come together to create a spiritual token in support of a charitable organization. Couples Mala will invite all couples, groups and singles - to celebrate Valentine's Day as they support a cause-worthy organization that works to better our local community," commented Marilyn Schlossbach, proprietor of Langosta Lounge. Couples Mala will kick-off at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 11 at Langosta Lounge. Tickets for the event are $50 or $70, depending on the mala stone of choice; $10 from each ticket sold will be donated to 180 Turning Around Lives. Reservations for Couples Mala are suggested.
