Monmouth County Library Headquarters will host the family-friendly Pawsitively Animals Fair from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Meet dogs and horses, authors and K-9 handlers, and pick up information and tips to help care for your pets! The afternoon will include:  Speaker Kim Kavin, author of Little Boy Blue, will speak about her dog Blue, who she rescued from an animal hoarder and a gas-chamber shelter. Kavin will address the issues of animal shelters and animal hoarding.  Standardbred horse owner Suzanne D'Ambrose and her horse Indy will return to the library to greet patrons. Indy is happy to pose for photos and munch carrots, and he will bring along his equine friend, a mustang named DeFazio, for everyone to meet.  Members of the Monmouth County Sheriff's Office K-9 Unit will demonstrate their crime-sniffing expertise.  Photographer Kim Levin specializes in animal photography and is the author of several books including Dogma, Why We Love Cats and PhoDOGraphy. She will be available to sign books.  Author Charlie Kelley will read from his book Buddy the Beagle, The Lost Journey, about the family beagle who was lost for 98 days on Gull Island just off of Pt. Pleasant Beach.  The Monmouth County SPCA adoption van will be on site with animals that are available for adoption.
