The Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) is hosting an evening of talk, fellowship and refreshments for the public on Thursday, March 14 at 7 pm. The event will take place at the Friends Meetinghouse at the northeast corner of Route 35 and Sycamore Avenue (375 Sycamore Ave.) in Shrewsbury. There will be a panel discussion of local Quaker history, the restoration of our historic building, and our religious practices. The discussion will be followed by a question and answer period, and everyone is invited to stay for informal conversation and home-baked refreshments. The event is free and all are welcome. For more information, visit http://www.shrewsburyquakers.org or call 732-741-4138. The Shrewsbury Friends Meeting was organized formally in 1672. We have been meeting in Shrewsbury since1665, on the current site since 1703, and in our current building since 1816. This March event is an opportunity for history buffs, spiritual seekers and other interested neighbors and friends to spend time with us and learn about who are we, what we believe, and how we practice our faith.
