ABOUT JERSEY RISING
JERSEY RISING is a team of young professionals and lovers of music volunteering to stage a series of benefit concerts in Monmouth and Ocean County. Jersey Rising calls upon the uniting power of great music to help the Jersey Shore heal from the devastation of Hurricane Sandy. Proceeds from Jersey Rising concerts will benefit the Center for Vocational Rehabilitation (CVR). In conjunction with CVR, the Jersey Rising executive committee will assist in determining and addressing the needs of families and individuals who have suffered in the wake of Sandy. About CVR
Founded in 1954, Eatontown-based Center for Vocational Rehabilitation (CVR) has provided what people with disabilities need most for their self-respect and the esteem of others: WORK. CVR facilitates personal growth and helps bring dignity and respect to the people it serves through a variety of vocational and partial-care rehabilitation programs.
CVR's Disaster Relief and Distribution Center is receiving food, clothing, and other essential supplies from across the country in a long-term effort to relieve communities ravaged by Sandy. CVR's mobile distribution teams are available to distribute goods to affected areas and care packages are available at the CVR Distribution Center. CVR is working diligently to ENSURE aid is given DIRECTLY to those who need it. For more information about CVR, a 501(c)(3) charity, please visit: http://cvrus.org
